Goof Off Saturday?
Saturday, 25 November 2006
It was a fast week and then a slow week and despite my best efforts I've missed two "Goof Off Fridays" in a row. Allow me to make it up to you with this hilarious clip regarding PMS survival:

Friday Goof Off: Weird Al Yankovic

Weird Al

Geek culture is here to stay and no one exploits it more than Weird Al Yankovic. Though he's been at it for years his most recent album is the first to make it onto the Billboard Top 10. Is it a sign that the nerds have united? Or is it the power of the Internet propaganda machine? Who knows... all I know is that his latest video is hilarious.

You can check out White And Nerdy on Yahoo Music who declares Weird Al the "foremost song parodist of the MTV era". While your at it take a look at another hilarious one called Don't Download This Song which features the memorable line: "Go and buy the CD like you know that you should... How else can I afford another solid gold Hum-Vee". (Weird Al video page)

While these new songs are great, I still have a place in my heart for some of Weird Al's all time classics like Amish Paradise, It's All About the Pentiums and my wife's favorite The EBAY song. There are tons more, so post your favorite if you like.

Friday Goof Off: TG Motocross 2
Friday, 22 September 2006

Man is it already Friday again? As per usual we're pretty busy around the office so I only have a second to post the official goof-off game. This is one of my all time favorites called TG Motorcross 2. As the name suggests you have to ride your motorcycle across several stages in as little time as possible. The trick to the first few stages is to avoid "catching too much air". In other words, keep your wheels on the ground and your finger on the throttle button.

This game actually beat out my previous all time favorite Funky Truck, which is of a similar design. I think the physics model has come a long way for both games, and TG2 is probably the best I've seen from Teagames game ever! It's amazing what you can do with a little Flash these days.
